Every couple of years NCEMS drives every road in the EMS District to be sure our maps are accurate. We continually update them when road information is obtained. This process of driving all of the roads assures us that nothing is missed. So, when you see a big white ambulance with a green stripe it is probably one of our units doing mapping work.
DON’T BE AFRAID TO SAY HELLO AND TOUR THE AMBULANCE.
If you have a residence or driveway that needs an address sign we will make one for you. With funds from a grant we are able to provide you with a FREE address sign for your residence or driveway. The ambulance crews that will be out doing the mapping will have a sample.
If you should miss them, give us a call at 360 686-3271 and we will make one for you. It is vitally important for Emergency Services to be able to locate you in case of an emergency. You can help by posting your address in a visible location.
We offer classes on the 3rd Saturday of every month but will schedule SPECIAL CLASSES. Please call 360 686-3271 and sign up today.
In case of a medical emergency, it can save valuable time if you have your medical information readily available to our paramedic staff. Click one of the following links, complete the information and place it on your refrigerator.

If you have lived here less than 5 – 6 years you may not know much about NCEMS. We are a public ambulance service operating from the Yacolt Fire Department. With a staff of eight paramedics and a lot of good volunteers we have provided Advanced Life Support (paramedic) ambulance service to a designated service area in North and Northeast Clark County and Southeast Cowlitz County since 1976.
We staff two ambulances 24 hours a day and call back crews to staff a third or fourth if necessary. We may be rural but we are second to none. We have been the leader in technology in the EMS field in Clark County.
Our paramedics have a combined experience of over 50 years in EMS. If you would like to know more about us or like a tour just call us at 360 686-3271.
North Country EMS has an active program which uses volunteers as paramedic assistants. The requirements are strict and the training is time consuming but the rewards of being able to assist your community are immeasurable. This program is also valuable for those interested in EMS as a career. If you know anyone 18 years of age or older that lives within the North Country EMS district and is a certified EMT, have them contact us at 360 686-3271 or download an application and send it to North Country EMS, PO Box 189, Yacolt, WA 98675.
North Country EMS is the sponsor of the Volcano Rescue Team. The VRT is an all volunteer rescue unit which is a Mountain Rescue Association certified agency. The Volcano Rescue Team provides the search / rescue / and emergency medical rescue services on Mount St. Helens and surrounding areas. The team is self supporting. Information and applications are available by calling 360 686-3271.
Since 2004 North Country EMS and the Yacolt Fire Department have sponsored a Community Toy Drive. This program is coordinated with the Giving Tree Program at the local schools and toys are distributed to children in our local area. Thanks to donations from local citizens we have collected hundreds of toys which in turn have given many children a joyful holiday season.
